Survival Guide for the Work-at-Home Mom
Working from home with kids can feel chaotic!
There are days where you are thriving and days where you are struggling to survive. The truth is, there are many ways we can set ourselves up for success even with our kiddos at home!
I have been a work-from-home mom for 14 years. Along the way, I have learned that my mom duties weren't going away and I needed to implement SYSTEMS in order to manage my workload. In My Survival Guide for the Work at Home Mom, I offer solutions that will help you manage mom life and work life!
My guide dives into Play, Electronics, Systems, Chores, Fun Tasks, Work-Related Time, and offers resources for moms.
In each of these sections, I cover the importance of having a plan laid out. Then we will look at solutions for taking that task and incorporating it into your routine.
Let's take electronics as an example. Electronics are everywhere and it can be hard not to lean on them when you need some time to focus and crank out tasks. But I STRONGLY recommend using electronics sparingly. Instead of just handing the electronics over anytime you need quiet time, use them as a reward. Get clear on the expectations for the device. It might take a few days of adjusting, but it will be better in the long run.
I am going to give you a tip... YOU NEED A SCHEDULE. Kids thrive on schedules and routines so it is really important that you lay that groundwork with your kids. By doing this, you will set yourself up for success!
One last thing I have learned as a work from home mom is to always be learning. Ask for help and lean on others!
Check out all my tips and resources in the full survival guide! And if podcasts are your jam, I have a whole list of them in the resource section of the guide.
